THE EDITOR, Sir:
We were thinking of a Jamaican all-inclusive vacation for three couples. This would be our third Jamaican vacation, but I'm hesitating because of some restrictions on smoking the Government has implemented.
I can go along with no smoking inside restaurants and inside bars, but I think it's wrong to stop smoking at outside bars (tiki huts) and swim-up pool bars and at the swimming pool (except children's pools). Casinos are a maybe.
There is nothing like waking up at 6 a.m. and going to your balcony with your coffee, smoke, and book to relax. I also agree to no smoking in all guest rooms.
Should the changes take effect without modification, we will take our approximately US$15,000 (three couples) and go to either the Dominican Republic or Mexico, instead of your beautiful island Jamaica. Thanks for letting me vent.
