Western Bureau:Deeside will be looking to hand Western Domino League (Premier League) defending champions Fighter Jet yet another loss when they travel to Carey Park in Trelawny on Sunday.
Fighter Jet suffered their second loss of the season, (278-300) to Assassins last week, to be fourth in the standings, trailing leaders Strike Force (49 points) by 15.
Strike Force had a compelling 300-247 victory over Tornado, while B52 Bomb Squad ran away victors (300-275) over Cool Wave.
Tropical Riddim enjoyed themselves with a 300-287 win over Dynamic Strikers, while Deeside had a 22-point win at the expense of Tuff Gong, stopping them 300-278.
With Strike Force on top, the Premier League standing is completed by B52 Bomb Squad in second, Tropical Riddim (third), Fighter Jet fourth and Assassins in fifth place.
The bottom half sees Deeside and Tuff Gong sharing sixth place on 28 points each, followed by Cool Wave (21 points). Tornado sit last on 12 points.
"Teams are beginning to settle themselves as the league continues. It has been a tremendous round of matches this past week, with Fighter Jet losing only for the second time this season. But I suspect that they will rebound against Deeside in their next match," said Walford Morgriege, the league director.
"That loss to Assassins showed that anything can happen and the excitement is really building," he added.
In Division One, Top Class (45 points) continued their march towards a possible appearance in the finals with a gutsy performance against nearest challengers Long Bay (40 points), winning 300-281.
Uptown, who are sitting third on 28 points, were overrun 300-270 by Tropical Storm; Slickers defeated Logwood 300-263 and Unity Strikers dominated Rainbow to win 300-282. Dynasty, which lead the division on 49 points, were too strong for mid-season champions Intouch, who lost for the first time this season, 300-292, in a close and enthralling clash.
Wakefield produced the match of the day, when they out-pointed Division Two mid-season champions and current leaders Glendevon CDC All-Stars, 300-287, in the last round of matches before the end-of-round final.
"This was a great match. Wakefield had a nice team in this matchup and produced a great spell to win. This again shows how much fun patrons will have at these games and I would urge them to support the league," noted Morgriege.
In other Division Two results, Western Stars won 300-241 over Woodland, and Peace and Love edged Tatch 300-292.
