THE EDITOR, Sir:
Like many Jamaicans, I tuned in on Monday, October 21, 2013, to listen to the Heroes Day messages from our leaders. I did not expect anything special; just the normal call for us to become heroes of today. I first listened to the leader of opposition's message which was as I expected - nice, but it did not quite connect in any way.
However, about an hour later, I was forced to stop and listen as the prime minister delivered her message. Of all the messages I have listened to from the prime minister over the years, for the first time she had me hanging on to her every word. Her tone was so pleasant and she was so in tune with what she was saying that I felt every word. It was obvious that care was taken in the preparation of the message from the beginning to end.
Well done, PM, your message was felt.
