THE EDITOR, Sir:
On National Heroes Day, it was reported that seven Jamaicans were murdered that day alone. In addition, numerous shootings and other killings occurred in the days preceding the holiday. Surely, a crisis is on our hands, yet not a word from the prime minister.
Could her silence be owing to the fact that she does not watch the news or read the papers? Or is it that she is just working, working away, oblivious to all this crime overwhelming us?
Our dollar is rapidly losing value, business confidence is declining, among other ills affecting this fragile economy of ours. The prime minister continues to sleep on a job she campaigned so vigorously for, only to awake in the Cayman Islands to talk about football, of all matters. God help us!
