THE JAMAICA Public Service Company (JPS) will tomorrow give Jamaicans the opportunity to be among the first in the Caribbean to purchase the Solar MillŪ, a hybrid wind and solar generator.
The Solar Mill Sales Event will start tomorrow and end on November 2. The sale will take place between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day at JPS Sports Club in Kingston.
The company has encouraged customers to book an appointment for a free personalised quote for their homes or businesses.
"We are proud to add the Solar Mill as one of our newest items in the eSTORE. I can't think of a better alternative energy device that seems to be made for Jamaica's conditions. The wind component is what gives our product the edge, which means more power for your investment dollar," Garth McKenzie, sales and marketing director at JPS noted.
"We installed a unit at our eSTORE location on Ruthven Road. Our commercial and residential customers can rest assured because the Solar Mill has faced some tough conditions over the last few months, including heavy rains, large cloud cover, as well as extremely low winds in the middle of Half-Way Tree, and has performed beyond our expectations. It has been powering the eSTORE consistently since its installation, producing about 230kWh per month," McKenzie added.
The eSTORE will also provide a preferred list of highly skilled technicians to install the unit as the light and power company recommends that the installation be done by a professional.
The JPS eSTORE has also forged partnerships with major banking institutions across the island to ensure that the Solar Mill is within the reach of its customers. Renewable energy loans are available with monthly payments as low as $10,000.
