Defending Corporate Area senior and junior champions, the Queen's School, will be in action today when the second round of the ISSA/Digicel Corporate Area schoolgirls' netball competition begins today at the Leila Robinson Courts, Independence Park.
Queen's juniors will face Tarrant High at 2 p.m. before the seniors from both schools clash at 3:10 p.m.
There will be two groups in both the junior and senior sections. Defending junior champions Queen's are in Group Two along with Hydel High, Bridgeport High, Meadowbrook High, Tarrant High, and St Jago High. Group One will see former champions St Hugh's leading the way. Also in this group are Norman Manley High, Alpha High, St Catherine High, Gaynstead High, and Camperdown High.
Queen's are in Group Two in the seniors section with St Hugh's, Alpha, St Catherine, Excelsior High, and St Jago.
The defending champions look set to win quite easily today after being the most impressive team in both sections so far. Their senior team will be weakened for most of the other remaining matches in the competition as three top players - Shanice Beckford, Khadijah Williams and Shameera Sterling - will play today but will leave the island tomorrow with the National Senior team to participate in the World Fast5 championship competition in New Zealand.
All the other teams will be in action next Tuesday.
