Digicel aids UWI marketing group
Digicel Jamaica has come on board as the main title sponsor for the progressive University of the West Indies (UWI) Marketing Association.
In a release, the telcommu-nications firm and lead sponsor said it would be providing a range of mobile technology support, mentorship, funding, practical marketing experience, and hands-on training for members of the Marketing Association.
After officially signing the deal on Tuesday, Digicel senior communications manager, Shelly-Ann Harris, encouraged the youngsters to strive for success.
"We are so proud of how much you have all achieved already, especially in working through the process to be where we are today - signing our agreement and making this partnership a reality," Harris said.
For his part, Stephen Reid, president of the UWI Marketing Association, expressed gratitude for the sponsorship.
"It's an honour to announce Digicel as the title sponsor of the UWI Marketing Association. When we decided to rebrand, for me, the ideal company to be title sponsor had to be Digicel. I admire how they market their brand and they will definitely help us improve as young marketers."
Digicel will host an 'edutaining' final meeting of the UWI Marketing Association today at the Mona School of Business and Management.
