No illegal vending during festive season - Mayor Barnswell

Published: Thursday | December 5, 2013 Comments 0

May Pen Mayor Scean Barnswell says the Clarendon Parish Council will exercise a zero-tolerance approach to illegal vending in town centres during the Christmas season.

In an interview with our news centre, Barnswell warned vendors to avoid overrunning May Pen or the other major town centres in Clarendon, as the authorities will be out to maintain order.

However, he says, to help ease shopping activities during Grand Market day, Brooks Avenue to the Burger King restaurant will be blocked off to allow for vending.

TRAFFIC CHANGES

Barnswell adds that vehicular traffic coming into May Pen will be rerouted to the council's transportation park adjacent to the tax office.

He was quick to point out that the concession will end the following day and the normal system across the parish will resume.
