THE FOUNDATION Alliance Franšaise, in partnership with the magazine Courrier International, launched the fourth edition of its international photography competition under the theme 'Playing on Earth'.

The Jamaican leg of this competition ends on December 15 and is organised by the Alliance Franšaise de la Jama´que. The competition is open to non-professional and semi-professional photographers who are Jamaican citizens or legal residents and are 18 years and older. Participation is free.

To enter, contestants submit two photos that portray the theme Playing on Earth. Pictures should showcase the various social and cultural functions of games in different settings (board games, gambling, video games, outdoor games, children games, competitions, etc.).

A local jury will select a winner whose work will then be submitted to the jury in Paris.

The winner of the international competition will have his or her work exhibited in a gallery in Paris and will win a week in Paris, airfare and accommodations paid.

Interested persons should consult the competition rules and registration form on the website of the Alliance Franšaise de la Jama´que: or contact the Alliance Franšaise at or 978-6996.
