A number of international acts have been announced for Electronic Dance Xposed (EDX) on December 21 at the Caymanas Polo Club, St Catherine. It will be the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) event's first staging.

Supported by Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum and Skyy Vodka, confirmed for the party are DJ Tydi of Australia, Russia's DJ Vika Koneva, Las Vegas heavyweight DJ Lema and Jamaican disc jockeys DJ Kyle DeSouza and DJ Kamal Bankay.

In addition to the EDM experts on the bill, EDX has confirmed the services of the legendary Ultra Music Festival dancers and Michelle Facey's Eye on Events.

Michelle Facey has experience in the execution of over 7,000 events worldwide, with a client list that includes Cartier, Shaquille O'Neil, Dwayne Wade, Cirque du Soleil, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, MTV, Trump International and Atlantis Paradise Island.

Patrons at EDX will experience all facets of EDM, which includes mainstream radio staples such as house music, dance music, dubstep, trap, techno and several more.

The party people will also be treated to specialty cocktails courtesy of Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum and Skyy Vodka for the concert's entirety. The cocktails will be engineered solely for EDX. The Skyy Vodka brand will also have an elevated VIP area at the venue.

To further enhance the experience for EDX revellers, promoter Adam Gomes has secured glow tubes and jewellery, multiple LED lit screens, LED helium balloons, CO2 cannon blasts and pyrotechnics, ensuring that Jamaica's first EDM concert will have the features of its international counterparts.

The performers at EDX are heavyweights in the EDM genre, as headliner Tydi was named Australia's number-one disc jockey in the prestigious Sony inthemix list. This was followed by the 2010 International Dance Music Awards presenting him with the Best Breakthrough DJ Award. In addition to performing in a number of nations worldwide, his weekly radio show syndicates in over 30 countries worldwide.

DJ Vika Koneva of Russia specialises in techno, deep house, tech house and progressive house artistry. He has performed the world-famous Macarena Club in Barcelona, Me Robo el Corazon in Chile and at the Full Moon Party in Thailand.

DJ Lema is the resident DJ at the Marquee Las Vegas, one of the most popular nightlife spots in the city.

Gomes highlighted that there is also a philanthropic aspect to EDX. "Ten per cent of the gross revenue generated by this concert will go to the We Care for Cornwall Regional Foundation in Montego Bay, a great cause that we are very excited to support," he said.

The We Care Foundation has assisted greatly in raising funds to address operational deficiencies at Cornwall Regional Hospital.

EDX is a premium inclusive event, with tickets on sale at Fontana Pharmacy and Fiesta Car Rentals.
