THE EDITOR, Sir:
Very few persons are surprised that Tessanne Chin has made it to the finals of The Voice. She promises to be one of the greatest Jamaican singers of all time.
Tessanne remakes every song that she sings, pulling out what the original composers never thought of, putting her own stamp of excellence in her various renditions.
She is an artiste with the ability to keep her audience spellbound, as one is never quite certain just what she will do in a performance.
There is no mystery in Tessanne's achievement. It is the age-old story that practice makes perfect. Her excellence was achieved through diligence.
If only as a nation, we could nurture this culture of excellence, the battle of our survival as a people would finally be won.
