Mandela pushed freedom for all

The world celebrated the life, struggles and work of the late Nelson Mandela, the first elected black president of South Africa.

Here in Jamaica, we have embraced him, yet we forget that Madiba recognised the humanity of members of the LGBT community, and gave them freedom in South Africa's new constitution.

Our politicians and most churches would have opposed him if he were our prime minister. Yet 'see di hypocrite dem a galang deh!'
