As Kabaka Pyramid's popularity grows, much is expected from him when he performs at KingsTown Live, which will be held Triple Century Sports Bar on Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston on Sunday.
The event is being put on by KingsTown Music and Kabaka's management team, Bebble Rock.
One of the promoters, Chad Williams, explained that Kabaka did a live show last year and the response was overwhelming. When approached to organise the show this year, he said he jumped at the opportunity.
"We wanted to put together a proper production. I think he is the future of reggae music and he is playing a huge role in the Reggae Revival Movement," Williams told The Gleaner.
"I believe that reggae music has been making a powerful surge in recent times, but I still don't think it has gotten to everyone."
Having been featured on Billboard's Next Big Sound and toured the United States and Europe earlier this year, Williams expects Kabaka to do well at the show.
"Judging by the response so far, people are really excited. He has a huge fan base. Word on the street is that it is going to be a good show," he told The Gleaner.
Williams also stressed that the show, which will cost $800 to enter, will start at exactly 9 p.m., so patrons should make an effort to be on time.
