Four hundred shoppers have already been awarded with Hi-Lo Supermarket vouchers valued at $10,000 each as part of telecommunications firm Digicel's Brighten Someone's Christmas promotion.

In the promotion, now in its fourth week, 100 customers have been winning shopping vouchers each week.

Crystal Forte, who received a supermarket voucher, said it was a timely gift because it allowed her to get some food items for herself and baby products for her daughter just before pay day.

Commenting on the promotion, Annalise Harewood, Digicel's head of recharge, said: "This Yuletide is all about giving back for us at Digicel, and we are happy to help our customers with their Christmas grocery shopping. We are also happy to have Hi-Lo on board to help brighten the Christmas for so many of our customers."

Omar Barrientos, CEO of Hi-Lo Food Stores, said: "Hi-Lo is delighted to partner with Digicel in giving value to customers. We have a wide selection of items available for the winners to purchase that will fulfil their needs during this festive season."

The Brighten Someone's Christmas promotion is scheduled to end on January 9.

Digicel said that at that time, another 400 customers would win Hi-Lo supermarket vouchers in time for the new year when disposable income tends to be low.

"Customers qualify to win in Digicel's promotion by topping up with $120 or more on their prepaid devices, paying their 4G broadband bills in full and on time, talking for 10 minutes on their postpaid devices, and purchasing a handset or device," the telecoms firm said.
