Focus on real meaning of Christmas

Published: Monday | December 23, 2013 Comments 0

THE EDITOR, Sir:

In these times of stress and financial difficulties we ought to focus on the real meaning of Christmas.

The Christmas spirit should be centred solely on the meaning of December 25 and nothing else.

A loving family reunion or a strong bond of friendship is better than pocket money.

So, give gifts if you can afford it. Be content with what you have. Eat your steamed callaloo or steamed cabbage, and don't worry about steak or greasy, fat ham because the greens are more nutritious than the fleshy meats.

And don't feel like you are in no-man's-land if Santa Claus does not pay you a visit.
