JUTC needs a reroute

THE EDITOR, Sir:

For any organisation to function efficiently, proper management is essential. JUTC has increased bus fares in an effort to increase, or at least make a profit. Turning to price increase on commuters is not the primary remedy for JUTC's problems. By doing so, the transit company is merely seeking a 'quick fix'.

My humble suggestion is that the management team at JUTC review the bus schedules. I have had the displeasure of waiting more than 60 minutes for a bus only to see two racing behind each other with one completely full and the other with the driver and 52 empty seats.

Structure the bus schedule and do not depart from that structure. None of the automated schedules in the Half-Way Tree bus park are functioning and, therefore, commuters are unaware of the arrival and departure times for the buses. Address this problem and stop increasing the price on commuters every time you fail to fill your coffers. Some introspection and restructuring is definitely needed.
