Double murder in Ebony Vale

The festive spirit has been extinguished in Ebony Vale, St Catherine, following a double murder in the community last Friday.

So far the police have identified one of the victims as 56-year-old Marva Henry. The second victim, a man, was not identified up to late yesterday.

Police reports are that about 8:30 p.m. Henry and the man were on a street in the community when two men walked up, brandished guns and shot them repeatedly.

Henry died on the spot while the male died in hospital.

Yesterday, residents said they have lost the festive spirit.

"We just held a Christmas tree competition and the community was so very warm, this is very discouraging for us," said Michael Teape.

Other residents said the community is tense and they hope that the police will catch the killer quickly.
