With the Christmas merriment all over, it is time to look forward to the new year. Many will be making New Year's resolutions, while planning to paint the town red on New Year's Eve. For men who are looking to up their sartorial game, look no further.

Flair's men's edition visited Di Trends in Half-Way Tree to give you a better idea of what will set a fashionable gentleman apart for different occasions.

Bold blazers

Blazers have become quite popular, because they make great statement pieces. They are versatile and can be worn with anything from a simple T-shirt to a button-down shirt.

Suave suits

A well-fitted suit can make any man look sophisticated, and these days, they are not your typical blacks, navy blues and grays. Many men are experimenting with colour and even prints.

Coloured/printed pants

'Tis the season for prints and colours, and men are most certainly not left out. Men are not confined to shades of black and white, as they are now venturing into colours and exotic print patterns.

Denim

The denim trend in very much in, but be careful not to overdo it and end up looking like an outdated western cowboy in the process. Don't do it from head to toe. If you're wearing a shirt and pants to break up the monotony do them in different shades.

Fun-in-the-sun shorts

It's the tropics and we do not have to contend with snow and the layering that comes with it. So, pull out those shorts for the beach, a family barbecue or an afternoon stroll.

Wishing you a fashionable 2014.
