Let's unite Ja

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Jamaica is sinking in an ocean of debt. If the ship goes down, all aboard will perish. All communication to the rest of the world will be lost. The nearest land mass to the sinking ship is Trinidad. The few Jamaicans who can swim will not be admitted into Trinidad.

Jamaicans are endowed with talents and can unite in times of emergency. The national debt has now become an emergency, and recovery can only be achieved if the population unites and get rid of it, or reduce it significantly.

Our professionals, entertainers and athletes could lead the way by performing in parish capitals. The media could assist in the promotion. The performers would be putting out more effort than the rest but, let put it this way, to whom much is given, much is expected.
