Trinidad & Tobago edged hosts Jamaica 3-2 in a clash of senior players at the Caribbean Regional Badminton Confederation (CAREBACO) championships on Thursday night at the Alfred Sangster Auditorium, University of Technology.

In women's singles Trinidad's Nekeisha Blake beat Ruth Williams 21-15 and 21-16. Kerwyn Pantin of Trinidad then turned back Jamari Rose 21-15 and 21-19 after top ranked Jamaican Gareth Henry was ruled out of the opener due to injury.

Seasoned pair, Christine Leyow-Mayne & Terry Leyow Walker, dispatched Trinidadian duo Avril Plaza and Jade Joseph 21-4 and 21-10. But Trinidad's doubles pair of Kerwyn Pantin/Keston Friday beat Jamaica's Anthony McNee and Garron Palmer 21-15, 14-21 and 21-18.

Veteran Christine Leyow Mayne and Jamari Rose of Jamaica stopped Trinidad's Alistar Espinosa and Nekeisha Blake 21-12 and 21-14.

Jamaica were scheduled to play Barbados in both seniors and juniors last night to seal places in today's final.
