Poster boy Roger
We are happy to note that Roger Clarke is on the mend and apparently on the way to a full recovery, even if we do not share his ambition for a return to the political leadership of the agriculture ministry. Nor do we care for his stand-in, Derrick Kellier. Neither cuts it for modern agriculture.
We, however, agree with Mr Clarke that he has value to Jamaica beyond, he says, providing comic relief. We think of him as a man of wit.
Indeed, Mr Clarke may have carved out a new role for himself, which we commend to Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller. He says that, for him, there are "no more rum-drinking days" and that people, when they see him, will "think it's Usain Bolt".
Eureka! Let Roger Clarke be the new poster boy for a healthy lifestyle. Declare him an ambassador.
