Educate laymen on money matters

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Having heard clear positive comments from the Economic Programme Oversight Committee Chairman Richard Byles about the steady progress of the Jamaican economy, I feel that not enough emphasis is being done to educate the man on the street to invest in the Jamaican financial markets.

Now that the economy is showing signs of growth in some sectors, I would like to see those who head our financial institutions promote, in simple layman terms, how to engage the public on money matters. Educating the public on this format will spur even greater growth and confidence and this should be done in The Gleaner's sister newspaper, THE STAR, where there is more readership and sales.
