Fix problems on highway

On August 5, 2014, the Linstead-Moneague leg of Highway 2000 was opened. Since then, I have taken the opportunity to use it as I live in proximity to the roadway. While I am happy for its opening, there are a few areas of concern to me.

First, I have noted that persons are walking along the highway and many have broken down the perimeter fence in a bid to cross the new stretch. Second, a way must be found to limit the ease of access that animals have to the highway.

Third, there is a sudden end to the highway, without sufficient warning signs. Several mishaps have occurred at the entrance and exit points of the highway. Fourth, there is no lighting at the roundabouts. This can pose a security risk and would help in the reduction of mishaps.

I am, however, pleased with the highway in general. If the above-mentioned concerns are addressed, I believe it will be one of the greatest developments in Jamaica.
