Barbican maintain perfect run

Barbican FC swamped Olympic Gardens FC 5-0 at Cling Cling Oval to maintain their perfect record in Zone A of the Jamaica Football Federation/Sherwin Williams Women's Premier League football competition last Saturday.

The defending champions moved to 15 points from five games courtesy of a brace from Davia Smith in the 15th and 66th minutes, an own goal (Timmoy White) in the 23rd minute, plus strikes from Rochelle Bryan (25th) and Trudy-Ann Mills (42nd).

In other games in the zone, Waterhouse hammered Trelawny Women's 5-1 at Marverley Complex and Portmore Strikers crushed Rangers of St Mary 6-0 at St Mary's Sports Complex.

In Zone B, leaders Los Perfectos beat Harbour View 3-1 at Brooks Park; G.C. Foster College had a massive 9-0 win against Real Morant Strikers, and UWI Women tagged St James Women's Academy 3-0.

Points

Barbican lead Waterhouse (12), Arnett Gardens (nine), Portmore Strikers (six) Olympic Gardens (five), Trelawny Women's (four) and Rangers FC (one).

Los Perfectos and G.C. Foster College are locked on 15 points apiece in Zone B. However, Los P have a superior goal difference. They are followed by UWI Women's (nine), St James Women's (seven), Harbour View (four) and Real Morant Strikers and Boys' Town on one point each.

The competition continues on Saturday with six games. The full fixture reads: Trelawny vs Barbican at Elleston Wakeland Complex in Trelawny; Waterhouse vs Olympic Gardens at Duhaney Park playing field; Rangers vs Arnett Gardens at St Mary Sports Complex; Los Perfectos vs G.C. Foster College at Brooks Park in Manchester; Harbour View vs Real Morant Strikers at Harbour View Stadium and Boys' Town vs UWI Women's at Collie Smith Sports Complex. All games start at 3:30 p.m.
