WESTERN BUREAU:A St James man who reportedly assaulted another man on two separate occasions will stand trial when he returns to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on November 11.

Lloyd Bryan, who is of a Montego Bay address, and who is charged for assault occasioning actual bodily harm committed against Joshua Scott, was given the trial date and had his bail extended when he appeared in court on Monday.

The allegations are that on January 30, Scott was walking along the Gutters main road when he was accosted by Bryan, who accused him of having relations with Bryan's girlfriend. Bryan then proceeded to punch and kick Scott all over his body, knocking out three of his teeth.

It is further alleged that on March 4, Scott was walking along the roadway when he was accosted again by Bryan, who attacked and slapped him with a machete.

When Bryan's case was mentioned on Monday, the court was told that the prosecution's case file was ready for trial.

"Do you have a lawyer in this case?" Resident Magistrate Carolyn Tai asked Bryan.

"No, Your Honour," Bryan replied.

"You are to come back here on November 11. Your bail is extended until then," said Tai, before allowing Bryan to leave the courtroom.
