Four men, including a member of the Jamaica Defence Force, are now in police custody facing charges of robbery and illegal possession of gun and ammunition.

Reports reaching The Sunday Gleaner are that the men were allegedly held with two nine mm pistols and ammunition in St Thomas on Friday night after they allegedly robbed a petrol station.

Police in Morant Bay yesterday confirmed that the men have been detained following a robbery at a gas station but provided no further details.

However, sources say that about 8 p.m. Friday, the four men armed with guns entered a gas station in Morant Bay where they held up the salesperson and demanded money.

The men reportedly fled in a motor car. The police were alerted and cornered the vehicle with the suspected robbers a short while later.
