… Appleton supports series
The team at Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum say they are happy to be on board as sponsors of the On Tour series, which saw Tarrus Riley being the first featured act on the weekend.
The On Tour series saw Tarrus bringing his global Love Situation tour to Jamaica for the first time. Love Situation is the title of Riley's fifth studio album, and features production by Dean Fraser, Juke Boxx Productions, Chimney Records and Michum Khan Chin. The legendary U-Roy and Big Youth are among the guest appearances featured on Riley's album, which also includes Konshens and American rapper Mr Cheeks.
Speaking on the innovative On Tour concept, Cecil Smith, group brand manager for rums at J. Wray & Nephew Limited, said, "Jamaicans and tourists alike are always craving for more live music. Our nation is one of the greatest producers of music worldwide, yet there is a void of live performances in a safe and secure environment for music lovers to enjoy regularly. On Tour will allow for Jamaican musicians to actually tour the island with their latest music over a four-day period, monthly, and perform for their fans. It's a great opportunity for Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum and One Nation Event Entertainment Limited to showcase that Jamaica's entertainment industry can facilitate multiple-date artiste performances consecutively, as done with tours outside of the island in mostly North America, Europe and Asia."
The Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum Presents On Tour with Tarrus Riley, kicked off at Club Ville in Ocho Rios on Friday (September 12), made its way to Pier 1 in Montego Bay last night, and will make final stops in Portmore and Kingston today and tomorrow at Club Famous and the Little Theatre, respectively.
