OCHO RIOS, St Ann: The
big semi-final showdown in the Sandals St Ann/St Mary Business House
(BH) Football League takes place today, with favourites Grand Bahia
Principe tackling newcomers Baking Enterprise in the opening encounter
at 4 p.m. In the feature match at 6 p.m., Couples Tower Isles battle
Beaches Ocho Rios. Both matches will be played at Drax Hall.

Following
their 3-0 demolition of defending champions Couples Sans Souci, Grand
Bahia Principe are now wearing the favourites tag, but Baking Enterprise
have been playing inspired football and will be coming to upset the
apple cart.

Marvin Stewart will be the man leading the Grand Bahia
charge and also the player responsible for finding the back of the net.
Baking Enterprise will be depending on the likes of Mauricio Gordon and
Carlos Campbell, two deadly strikers who have been terrorising defences
all season.

BEACHES FACE COUPLES

The feature match will pit
the league's other unbeaten team, Couples Tower Isle, against Beaches
Ocho Rios. The teams met once before in the preliminaries, with Couples
claiming a 1-0 win in a hard-fought contest.

Beaches will be led
by Dane Richards, Leroy Marsh and Jari Abuu, while Couples will be
banking on André Harrison and Carlos Smith.

League organiser Danny Beckford, who is also president of the St Ann Football Association, expects a keenly contested encounter.

"I
am very happy with the quality of the four semi-finalists; they have
played well and any of the four can win," Beckford noted.

Ian
Spencer, regional public relations manager for Sandals Resorts, sponsors
of the league, also lauded the quality of football played so far.

"The
teams have been playing well," said Spencer. "Our only concern has been
the discipline of some players and consistency of refereeing. But, so
far, it's been a good season."
