Homosexuality should not be tolerated
THE EDITOR, Sir: Gordon Robinson's column in The Sunday Gleaner of September 21, 2014 ('The war has just begun') was clearly written and illustrates good scholarship. However, he seems to have missed the most salient point.
The Creator's perimeters of human behaviour were not established from a religious perspective, but from a divine concept of ultimate perfection to ensure enduring love, peace, and goodwill in all creation. Should one become embroiled in activity inducing a personality altering of an unnatural designation, such individuals, by their own volition, render themselves excluded from God's ultimate perfect society.
Homosexuality is an indulgence beyond God's created will. It defies the sustenance of the human life cycle, and is, therefore, alien to creation. It is a form of warped love, a spiritual disease. The purpose of sexual activity is to sustain the continued existence of life forms. In humans, it is initiated by an innate attraction between sexual opposites.
Excluding all connotation of a personality hate factor, I endorse the Jamaican intolerance of this perversity, just as the Almighty does, which Mr Robinson deems as a backward concept. A historical research of civilisations in which this activity was pervasive will reveal that they all failed miserably.
I harbour no personal animosity towards this gentleman, and I bear him no ill will. I embrace him as a friend and brother.
