Buggery scorn born of arrogance

Published:Friday | September 26, 2014 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir: I am surprised, ashamed and inspired to comment when I read statements that seek to justify the condemnation of any human behaviour that harms no one. Both heterosexual and homosexual acts other than rape are just that: self-indulgent and harmless. Obviously, one is more purposive to procreation than the other, and that's all that needs being said. Isn't it really?

To suggest that one is natural and the other is not, even in humans, is biological nonsense. To suggest that one is moral and the other is not represents a spiritual arrogance unworthy of any form of religion, let alone of Christianity.

To suggest that some being called 'God' thinks one way and not another is the ultimate in human conceit. It demonstrates the height of human ignorance.

Jamaica's future depends on the deliberate end to all forms of discrimination - economic, social, political, and religious. Unconditional love is all we need.
