SVL introduces five-minute game
Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) has introduced a new game, Money Time, which is drawn every five minutes.
It "mirrors the popular casino game, Roulette", said SVL's vice-president for group communications, Sonia Davidson.
SVL has been trying to gin up lottery sales, including its newly introduced early-bird draws which up to June had seen a 10 per cent impact on sales.
The company projects a low of $1.5 billion to a high of $2.6 billion in annual incremental revenue from its slate of new initiatives.
Money Time was introduced on October 19 "to expand our product portfolio and meet the needs expressed by our players", Davidson said.
The company declined to state the revenue expected from the new game, citing its "blackout period" before it files quarterly financial reports to the Jamaica Stock Exchange, but said player response has so far been positive with "sales growing each day".
The game is available at 1,200 SVL outlets, but the company also expects Money Time to catch on with patrons of bars and entertainment venues, referred to as "social space gaming".
