LIVERPOOL 0 HULL CITY 0

After losing 3-0 to Real Madrid, Liverpool failed to find the net again, with £16-million striker Mario Balotelli squandering a golden chance late on to win the game. Dejan Lovren also had a header cleared off the line by Hull's Ahmed Elmohamady with the hosts wasting no fewer than 17 goal efforts.

SOUTHAMPTON 1

STOKE CITY 0

GOAL:- SOUTHAMPTON: MANE 33rd.

Sadio Mane's goal was enough to take Southampton into second place in the Barclays Premier League, a week after the Saints had marched to an 8-0 win over Sunderland. Mane found the net from 10 yards just past the half-hour mark, after Graziano Pelle's low drive had rebounded off the post.

SUNDERLAND 0 ARSENAL 2

GOALS:- ARSENAL: SANCHEZ 30th, 90th.

Arsenal failed to impress again and needed errors to claim a valuable win, only their third in the Barclays Premier League this season. Wes Brown's attempted back pass let in Alexis Sanchez for his first and then goalkeeper Vito Mannone, once of Arsenal, dawdled, allowing the Chilean to steal in and secure the points.

SWANSEA CITY 2

LEICESTER CITY 0

GOALS:- SWANSEA: BONY 34th, 57th.

Two goals from Wilfried Bony helped Swansea City overcome Leicester to end a five-match winless Premier League run and move into sixth place. Bony opened the scoring after a fine exchange of passes with Gylfi Sigurdsson, the Ivory Coast striker tucking past Foxes keeper Kasper Schmeichel. Bony made it 2-0 by side-footing Jefferson Montero's cross home, his fourth goal in the last three outings.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION 2

CRYSTAL PALACE 2

GOALS:- WBA: ANICHEBE 51st; BERAHINO 90th PEN. PALACE: HANGELAND 16th; JEDINAK 45th PEN.

Saido Berahino completed a West Bromwich Albion comeback with a penalty in added time. Berahino beat substitute goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey to score his sixth goal in five matches after Mile Jedinak had fouled Victor Anichebe. Anichebe had headed home early in the second half after Palace led 2-0 at half-time. Brede Hangeland volleyed Palace ahead before Jedinak scored from the spot.

WEST HAM UNITED 2

MANCHESTER CITY 1

GOALS:- WEST HAM: AMALFITANO 21st; SAKHO 75th. MANCHESTER CITY: SILVA 77th.

Diafra Sakho became the first West Ham player to score in six successive league games when he stole what proved to be the winner against reigning champions Manchester City. City fell behind when Morgan Amalfitano stabbed home Enner Valencia's cut-back from three yards. Sergio Aguero and Yaya Touré hit the bar for the visitors before Sakho headed in Aaron Cresswell's cross. David Silva pulled one back with a curled shot into the far corner.
