Haliborange ebola facts - BE ON ALERT WHILE TRAVELLING

Published:Wednesday | October 29, 2014 | 12:00 AM

If you are travelling, be alert while at the airport or on the airplane. Alert airline personnel about a fellow traveller who is displaying symptoms of Ebola such as fever, weakness, muscle pain, headache, sore throat; followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, or bleeding.

If you develop any symptoms, immediately inform airline personnel or seek immediate medical attention if you can.

Avoid direct physical contact with anyone displaying any Ebola symptoms. Once you have informed someone in authority, leave it to them to professionally handle the situation.

Practise cleaning your hands several times per day, whether with soap and water, disinfectant wipes, antibacterial hand sanitiser, or alcohol rub.

Regular hand washing prevents the spread of diseases. Germs can spread easily from person to person, and during the day, our hands handle several items that may contain germs, or we may transfer germs. Keep your hands clean.
