The year's top billed social event, the Jamaica Chamber of Commerce Civic Affairs Committee Grand Charity Ball, takes centre stage at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, New Kingston, on Saturday, November 8, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Themed: 'The Future is Ours to Shape', this year's 33rd staging is again being held under the distinguished patronage of Governor General Sir Patrick Allen and Lady Allen.

Jamaica's who's who are expected to grace the halls of the internationally renowned The Jamaica Pegasus hotel for the not-to-be-missed grand affair.

Headline sponsors include The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, Supreme Ventures Limited, J. Wray & Nephew Limited & Chas E. Ramson.

The organisers say patrons should come expecting a magical evening, as no effort will be spared in ensuring that this year's ball is better than the last, and that persons have a rollicking good time.

The ball kicks off with the customary cocktails and dancing, to be followed by dinner, during which chairman of the Civic Affairs Committee, Sameer Younis, will deliver a brief address, which will cap the formalities during this segment.

Guests will, thereafter, be treated to an exquisite cabaret show featuring the sartorial elegance of vocalists Aisha Davis and Jermaine Blake, accompanied by globally renowned musical exponents, Fab 5 Band.

The tantalisingly scintillating performances anticipated from these artistes are expected to set the stage for the remainder of the evening for dancing to the band's wide array of swinging hits.

Patrons will also have chances to win one of 11 prizes up for grabs. They include the top prizes of round-trip tickets for two, courtesy of American Airlines; second prize of round-trip tickets for two, compliments of Delta Airlines; and third prize round-trip tickets for two, compliments of Caribbean Airlines.

Also up for grabs are a complimentary dinner for two at the Spanish Court Hotel, complimentary brunch for two at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel, and a complimentary aromatherapy massage, courtesy of Bella Spa.

As is customary, Younis advises that the proceeds will be used to support ongoing inner-city projects of the committee, as well as the Family Life and Family Values campaign.
