UWI to host publishing workshop
DR JEREMY Poynting,
managing editor of Peepal Tree Press, the leading publishing house of
Caribbean literature, will conduct a workshop dubbed 'Preparing for
Publishing', hosted by the Department of Literatures in English at the
University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona.
All creative writers
who are considering the publication of their work will benefit from this
workshop. With more than 25 years of experience in the publishing
business and with 30-plus publications of Caribbean and Black British
writing each year, Poynting will share his expertise with participants.
He will focus on the important issues of arranging a collection for
publication, self-editing, and the editing/selection process at Peepal
Tree Press. The workshop for creative writers will be held on Saturday
from 11 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. in the N1 lecture theatre of the Faculty of
Humanities at the UWI, Mona campus.
