Not our pole, not our cables, says JPS

Published:Saturday | November 1, 2014 | 12:00 AM

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) has noted with concern the People's Report letter to the editor in your publication of Saturday, October 25, 'Golden Spring pole poses grave danger'.

The letter carries a picture of a utility pole, located at the corner of Brooks Level Road and Hidalgo Close in Golden Spring, St Andrew, which, it claims, has been leaning for many months, despite requests for JPS to rectify the situation. The letter also claims that the pole is being held in place by cables and electricity lines.

We realise the writer has made an error, as this pole does not belong to JPS. Further, there are no electrical wires on the pole. Both the pole and the cables on it belong to another utility company. We sincerely hope the situation will be addressed soon.

As always, we remain grateful for feedback from the public, as it plays a valuable role in helping us improve the service we provide.
