Central Westmoreland by-election set for December 1

Published:Thursday | November 6, 2014 | 12:00 AM

Voters in the Central Westmoreland constituency will, on December 1, go to the polls to elect a new member of parliament, as Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller yesterday advised the Governor General to issue a proclamation in that regard. Nomination Day is Wednesday, November 12, 2014. The vacancy was created after the death of Roger Clarke, the late former MP.

In the article, 'NHT Busted! Trust Ordered To Stop Changing Rules Without Parliament's Approval', which was published in The Sunday Gleaner, comments made by Dr Lanie Oakley-Williams, senior general manager at the National Housing Trust (NHT), before the Regulations Committee of the Senate, were incorrectly attributed to Judith Larmond Henry, the entity's general legal counsel.

We regret the error.
