Garbage spoiling Jamaica's beauty

Published:Saturday | November 8, 2014 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Having visited your beautiful island with my wife at Sandals Grande Ocho Rios, I have sadly come to the conclusion that Jamaica is too good for a lot of its citizens.

On this current visit, I have never seen as much litter all over the place - mainly food cartons and plastic bottles.

If your Government put a tax on non-biodegradable packaging, it would soon solve the problem.

Also, pay your unemployed to tidy the place up. Giving them, say, $50 per full sack might also help your crime figures. In fact, it could pay for itself.

This would bring Jamaica back to being the most beautiful country in the world.
