Awaiting lower Flow Net rates
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Now that Flow has connected to the IXP backbone, I'm looking forward to lower Internet rates (as touted by Minister Philip Paulwell and Leighton Hamilton of the Office of Utilities Regulation) from them.
I'm not prepared to accept any of the overused diatribe spouted to consumers, probably saying something to the effect, "We do not envisage a lowering of Internet rates as we were considering a slight increase in rates, but this connection has, in effect, caused the rates to remain stable." Look out for it!
Now that Flow has taken advantage of this free connection to the IXP backbone (see article on Page C3 of last Sunday's Gleaner) as opposed to paying for the former Miami link, we're patiently awaiting lower Internet rates from Flow and other Internet-service providers as they take advantage of this windfall.
