Little Bay fishermen raising a stink

This is an open letter to the Ministry of Water, Land, Environment and Climate Change and its associated agencies with responsibility for the environment.

The residents and fishermen of Little Bay in Port Maria, St Mary, are concerned about the putrid odour in the area which seems to be emanating from the sea. This is not the usual smell caused by the gas dimethyl sulfide that one expects along the coast.

One cannot pass by that section of the coast now without feeling the need to perform anti-peristalsis movements.

We are asking that an investigation be conducted into the matter before it becomes hazardous.
