DEFENDING ISSA rural senior netball champions Holmwood Technical defeated Knox College 35-29 at Manchester High on Wednesday to reach next week's final at the same venue.

In the final, they will face Denbigh High, who stopped Herbert Morrison Technical 24-19 in the other semi-final.

In the Holmwood/Knox clash the winners led all the way - 9-5 at the end of the first quarter, 18-13 at half-time and 27-22 after three quarters.

Happy with win

Holmwood's coach, Carlene Graham-Powell, whose team was making it to 10 finals in a row, was very happy with the win.

"Knox camped with us during the summer break and training with us. They must have learnt something. We lost to them earlier as one of our main shooters was out with the Chik-V virus but once she came back I knew we would have been stronger," said Graham-Powell.

In the other semi-final unbeaten Denbigh led 9-5, 19-11, 23-15 at the intervals.

Denbigh will have two teams in next week's final as their juniors whipped Titchfield 33-21.

In the final they will meet Manchester who stopped Bellefield 25-15.
