Grave lessons in medical students' fatal crash
THE EDITOR, Sir:
What a colossal loss! It was with a deep sense of sadness that I read the article 'UWI med students die in crash' (Sunday Gleaner, November 30).
We, sometimes, at great sacrifice, send our children to tertiary institutions. We have high hopes for them. We live vicariously through them. We live for graduation.
These two young people, Danielle Hanson and Mikhail Campbell, died tragically in an auto crash.
Certainly, there are many lessons to be learnt. There are families and colleagues who will need our support. They will be expected to pick up the pieces and go on.
There are some wounds that may not heal with time, but we know that God is faithful. May He give Danielle and Mikhail's medical class the courage, strength and mental capacity to take the baton and run the race to the very end.
