CHEC hurting Davis Town roads

Published:Saturday | December 6, 2014 | 12:00 AM

I am a resident of the Davis Town Housing Scheme in the parish of St Ann, which is very close to the highway construction taking place in the parish by the Chinese Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC).

In addition to heavy rainfall, debris and soil erosion, the construction has had a negative impact on the community. To make matters worse, trucks for that company have been travelling through the housing scheme loaded, further deteriorating our already dilapidated roads.

The members of my community would like this infraction to cease immediately and for CHEC to take responsibility for repairing the roads that are already damaged and put measures in place to prevent any further destruction of our thoroughfares.
