NCB, Sagicor tie for JSE best practices trophy

Two financial institutions shared the award for best practices among publicly listed companies.

National Commercial Bank Jamaica (NCB) and Sagicor Group Jamaica jointly walked away with the Governor General's Trophy as overall winners on a night where the Jamaica Stock Exchange recognised companies for performance, disclosure, reporting, and governance.

The top award for companies listed on the junior market went to Honey Bun Limited. It was also recognised for having the best annual report.

The annual awards are in their tenth year. The awards to companies listed on the main and junior markets covered six categories overseen by a selection process examining annual reports, release of information to the market, board structure and operation, company performance as evidenced by financial reports, and investor relations.

Other winners

The other main market winners in the various categories were JMMB Limited for its annual report; Carreras Limited as best performing company; GraceKenndy Limited for corporate disclosure and investor relations; Sagicor Investments Jamaica Limited for its website; and NCB for corporate governance.

The junior market winners were Honey Bun, for its annual report and corporate disclosure and investor relations; Lasco Financial Services Limited as best performing company; and Caribbean Producers Jamaica Limited, for its website.
