Do better, Heel Bar
The Editor, Sir:
I want to register my utter disgust with the Heel Bar shop at Kings Plaza in St Andrew.
Shortly after Heroes Day, I took three pairs of shoes and a handbag to the entity to have various levels of repairs done.
The repairs ranged from tipping, rewrapping the heels of another, replacing elastic in the back strap of another, to reinforcing the leather on either side. They were also to change the colour of a Coach leather handbag.
For that I was charged about $13,000.
I made a down payment of $10,000 and the balance on completion of the job - 10 working days' time.
On the 11th working day, I received one pair of shoes done very well. However, some smart person chose to put black elastic on the burgundy shoes. Needless to say I told them I did not want it. But it was the handbag that offended me most.
The only surfaces sprayed were those obvious to the eyes. I had to return the bag on two occasions for it to be sprayed properly. After sending it back for it to be done properly on a third occasion, the original colour is still obvious. Not to mention I was charged twice for one pair of shoes.
By the time I went for them in December I was so disgusted, I took them home and vowed never to go back there.
I will not be coming back and I will not recommend anyone to you.
