A Golden New Year

It was simply a spectacular way to welcome 2015. If nothing more, the magnificent fireworks display on the beach made it a golden moment as revellers ended 2014 with a bang at Chris Blackwell's GoldenEye in Oracabessa, St Mary.
But there was more. Patrons, including guests at GoldenEye and other resorts who came just for the party, and a large turnout of Jamaicans, were invited by DJ Mario C to take part in the tradition of lighting a lantern and making a wish. It was for good luck, he said.
Most persons took up the offer, dotting the night's sky with a mesmerising light pattern that was only outdone by the fireworks.
Guests were offered a glass of champagne upon arrival and the party event began with dinner - a buffet of tantalising treats displayed on the pool deck at the Bizot Bar.
