There's no place like home
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I am an expatriate of Jamaica. I now reside in British Columbia, Canada. My heart, however, has always been with Jamaica.
During the Christmas season, I visited the Emancipation Park in Kingston. I was very impressed with what I saw. It was well maintained and beautiful. The sculptures are well done. This park is like a gem in the city. The Jamaican folks truly deserve it. It is my hope it will continue to sparkle within the city and residents can continue to benefit from its use.
Another thing I noted was the toll roads: well constructed and immaculate to drive on.
Despite the negative feedback about the island that always filter within North America communities (violence, crime, and the like, as if these are non-existent in other lands), there is nowhere quite like home, and the beauty within the island will continue to shine.
