NWA to address Ocho Rios potholes

THE NATIONAL Works Agency (NWA) is moving to address the problem of potholes on the streets of Ocho Rios which have left motorists fuming.
Manager of communications and customer service at the NWA Stephen Shaw told The Gleaner that the agency is moving quickly to address the situation.
"We just got funds to do the work," Shaw stated on Tuesday evening. "We recognise the issues and we want to move quickly to have them resolved."
Potholes have surfaced on the streets of the resort town at an astounding rate, following an extended rainy period several weeks ago.
While there was little visible damage at the time, constant wear and tear and additional showers have turned small indentations into huge potholes.
These have become more than just an eyesore, but a source of danger to road users.
Several of the main thoroughfares in the town, including Milford Road, Graham Street and DaCosta Drive, have been affected.
Drivers, especially taxi operators, have expressed disgust at the poor road condition.
