Baker Tilly Strachan Lafayette welcomed the company's international president with open arms, treating him to a night under the stars on the roof terrace of the Eden Gardens Resort and Spa on Tuesday.

The event also functioned as an appreciation party for staff members as well as very important clients.

The specially invited guests strolled into the venue to the cool and soothing sounds of R&B in business elegance, with a few stepping their fashion up a notch to casually chic just for the occasion.

Starting off the night with cocktails in hand, they branched off into smaller groups, which gave way to the chit-chatter among friends and the unfamiliar.

The president soon made his way into the event at 7:40 p.m., following suit in the drinks department. He went straight to mingling after being warmly greeted by local employees.

There was a smooth transition to reggae as the mingling progressed.

Formalities came around shortly before 9 p.m., with Wayne Strachan, senior partner of the accounting firm, thanking all for coming out. He gave a brief synopsis of the company and its new partnership which has brought great growth before opening the stage to Baker Tilly International president, Geoff Barnes.

He remarked that it has been great to be in Jamaica and that he feels sad that he could not be here longer. Representing 160 firms in total, he noted that joining the firm has been of fundamental importance since we are crucial part the world. Not only are Jamaicans driven, he pointed out, they are professional, ambitious and friendly. He looks forward to many years of working together and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality received.

Speeches aside, all were invited to enjoy the rest of the night until a curfew of 11 p.m. As the crowd dispersed to regular programming, the DJ blazed musical trails in the cool night with some sizzling beats and they partied the night away.
