Misfiring MoBay United held by Harbour View
WESTERN BUREAU:RED Stripe Premier League (RSPL) champions Montego Bay United missed several chances, as Harbour View FC escaped from the second city with a point yesterday.
MoBay United inched up to 35 points from 20 games, while Harbour View have 33 after yesterday's outing.
The home side had only themselves to blame, with at least three clear chances to score spurned.
Happily, for head coach Carlos Garcia, they are still unbeaten in their last five matches - including this one - to be joint second in the 12-team table on points with a resurgent Waterhouse FC, who also dropped points in their game with Boys' Town.
Sidelined national senior player Jermaine Woozencroft missed the clearest chance for MoBay United when he pounced on a pass from speedy winger Alan Ottey, but lifted his shot over the crossbar in the 45th minute, with the Harbour View goalkeeper at his mercy.
Ottey had done superbly and had another good afternoon for the champions.
One of Harbour View's best opportunities to score came in the 40th minute, when Ranique Muir fired at goal, but MBU's giant-sized keeper, Jacomeno Barrett, blocked well to keep the score even.
The champions will next face leaders Arnett Gardens in the 22nd round at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex, while Harbour View will host Humble Lion at Compound.
